Know your water is safe, don't just guess
Your test strips tell you your chemicals are balanced. They don't tell you what's living in your water.
Clear water doesn't always mean clean water. Harmful bacteria can survive in hot tubs even when chlorine levels look normal. You won't see them, smell them, or taste them — but your family or guests can still get sick.
This kit gives you professional microbiological analysis from a UKAS-accredited laboratory. The same standard used in commercial pool and spa testing, designed for home use.
What we test for
We test for the key bacteria associated with hot tub and pool illness:
- Escherichia coli (E. coli)
- Total coliform bacteria
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
These are the organisms most commonly linked to skin infections, ear infections and gastrointestinal illness in bathers - present even when water looks and smells completely normal.
Why this is different to a strip test
Strip tests measure chemical balance. They do not detect bacteria at the levels needed to keep your water safe. Some bacteria strips exist but they have high detection thresholds, give no quantified results, and are not suitable for Legionella detection.
This kit detects bacteria at low levels, tells you exactly what was found, and gives you a professional report you can keep on file.
For Airbnb and Holiday Let Hosts
If you rent your property commercially, you have a legal obligation under HSG282 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure your hot tub water is microbiologically safe for guests. HSG282 compliance requires microbiological testing carried out using a UKAS-accredited method. For fully compliant HSG282 testing visit our commercial service at bestwatermonitoring.co.uk.
