Your test strips tell you your chemicals are balanced. They don't tell you what's living in your water.

Clear water doesn't always mean clean water. Harmful bacteria can survive in a hot tub even when chlorine levels look normal. You won't see them, smell them or taste them, but your family and guests can still get ill.

Legionella is the bacterium behind Legionnaires' disease, a serious form of pneumonia. It thrives in warm, stored water that gets sprayed into the air, which is exactly what a hot tub does every time you switch on the jets. That's why hot tubs are a recognised risk and why monitoring them is worth doing.

Our kit contains two swabs. One screens for Legionella, the other for general bacteria including Coliforms, E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Both go back to an independent laboratory for analysis.

Dip strips change colour. A laboratory tells you what is actually in your water. Your results come back as a written report in plain English, so you know the condition of your hot tub and whether anything needs doing about it.
